BEST ALL-ON-6 DENTAL IMPLANTS
In Costa Rica
WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?
A dental implant is a small cylinder or screw made of titanium metal, a biologically compatible material with extensive research and tests over the years. Implants act as an anchor and are most commonly used for replacing one or more missing teeth that fuse to the bone and works as an artificial tooth root.
In Dr. Barquero’s clinic, we use top implants brands from Implant Direct, manufactured in the United States, with great quality of titanium, internal strength and precision of the components, anti-rotational design, and lifetime warranty.
We also use state-of-the-art equipment, including computed dental radiography (uses 90% less radiation), intra-oral video cameras, 3D scanning and impressions, and other advanced technology.
ALL-ON-6
The All-on-6 is a variation of the All-on-4 technique, but instead of four, it uses six implants that are placed in the mouth in areas with the highest bone volume. This treatment maximizes bone potential and provides additional support. It acts as an anchor for a bridge or denture.

Advantages
- Very short recovery time. The teeth are permanent and fixed so there is no need for patients to be without teeth or to endure temporary dentures for an extended time period. The patient is able to come for a morning appointment and leave that same afternoon with a brand new radiant smile!
- Your implant-supported bridge will have more support and feel more comfortable.
- Natural-looking teeth with a brand new bright and white smile.
- You can enjoy eating and speaking comfortably again.
- Removable dentures are not required.
- Easy maintenance and cleaning.
- Reduces further bone loss.
- Rarely requires bone grafting.
Steps to get an All-On-6 treatment
To complete a successfull All-on-6 treatment, there are two stages that require two visits 3-6 months apart.
First Visit

Assesment
The dentist must evaluate the patient’s teeth, gum health, and bone density. To get a full examination, the dentist will make a tomography, digital scan of the teeth, and some X-rays. With this information, he’ll discuss medical information and health condition to determine if there are any issues that need to be addressed before the all-on-4 treatment.
The dentist will also discuss with the patient the goals of the procedure, and provide guidance on the pre-surgery process.

Treatment plan
Once the dentist has all the information regarding the patient’s dental health and condition, he’ll provide a personalized treatment plan for the patient to analyze and approve.

Implant surgery
The dentist will start the procedure with the patient’s sedation preparation. Then, he’ll extract the teeth that are remaining and remove any excess or damaged gum tissue (when necessary). After, he’ll make the incisions into the gums making space for the implants. Once the implants are inserted, the dental surgeon will fill the gum tissue around them and close the incisions that were made. After the incisions are closed, he’s going to place the abutments, and a temporary prosthesis will be attached, and the holes will be filled and sealed.

Healing process
Healing usually takes from 3 to 6 months for the implants to fully integrate with the surrounding bone in the jaw (osseointegration). The patient is recommended to follow a soft-food diet, avoid smoking or drinking alcohol in order to ensure a faster healing process.
The dentist can also provide or prescribe medication for this process.
Second Visit

Final prosthesis
Once the healing process is completed, the patient can visit the clinic for the final prosthesis. For this step, the dentist will remove the temporary prosthesis and take molds of the gums and implants to place the permanent prosthesis.
A lasting solution for beauty and functionality!
FAQS
Dental implants are a viable option for many people, but they aren’t suitable for all patients. Before you get the procedure, Dr. Barquero must examine your dental health, determine if there is sufficient bone in you jaw, and if there’s any gum disease present.
The All-on-6 treatment is most suitable for patients with a full arch of missing teeth, or patients who need or plan to have natural teeth removed and replaced with implants.
The procedure usually takes from 2 to 4 hours depending on the patient. The patient can return to the hotel or house the same day.
Dental Implants can last up to 25 years depending on your dental habits and how much you take care of your teeth.
A normal dental care routine is all you need: brushing and flossing twice a day, plus twice yearly visits to the dentist is enough.
Implants work the same as natural teeth, so there’s no need for special cleanings or appointments with the All-on-6.
During the healing phase with your temporary teeth (between stage 1 and stage 2) , you might need to avoid hard or sticky foods, but afterwards the routine is the same as in natural teeth.
